Palm Springs, California – PGA West

Designer: Contemporary 1880, Sandy Heifner

What a pleasure to have designed the interiors of this lush golf desert resort with the famous PGA West logo mountain in view from any room facing the course. The home was built in the late 80's and badly needed a make over eliminating the walls of mirrors from the times.

We explored in soft tones beginning with the foyer marble floor selection in a natural buttery tone that hinted of the sand and fall colors of the landscape. The walls in the main areas and the trim throughout were purposely neutral with the marble floor, and colors were added in the desert tones of burnt orange on a Maguire chair and ottoman as well as the custom bar stools in a rust raffia. Ohio artist, Paul Hamilton, is featured framed over the fireplace depicting a firey western sky. The Asian Century sofa sits in front of a wall of silk drapery for softening and privacy in the evenings and opposite a seating group of Swaim sofa and chairs. The adjoining dining and sitting areas are featured in dark woods from Century and golden leathers on Swaim chairs.

The master bedroom is elegant with a sleek four poster bed and high side table that faces a double armoire. All pieces are from the Hickory Chair Thomas O’Brien Collection. Wallcoverings are softly patterened and textured in the master and the fabrics are a luxury silk.

Each of the guest bedrooms are furnished in textured woods and rattan and again follow the desert tones. The home is enjoyed during many of the winter months by family and friends as the perfect getaway.
