Sullivan Bruck Architects

Having worked on many residential projects with Sullivan Bruck, I was excited to be consulting on the interiors of their new office space on the top floor of the Mercantile Building, a turn of the century brick carcass with post and beam construction.

The architects intent was to create a clean classic contemporary work environment, and my function was to bring together the old and the new. We decided to leave as much of the old element as possible including the original beams to be sandblasted, the old oak floors and further exposed brick interior walls wherever possible. Color concepts began with a neutral toned, but cutting edge patterned Masland carpet and the same sepia wall color on an angled feature. High exposed walls, entry walls, and display walls were accented with bright purple, gold and red, respectively.

All furnishings and fixtures were sleek and contemporary with accents of stainless steel and glass. Classic mahogany chairs were selected for the conference room around an acid washed stainless Parsons table and a bookcase made from reclaimed pine finished the old and new, sleek and pitted.
